Principal's Message

Happy Labor Day Middle School Teachers
Labor Day is an annual celebration of the social and economic achievements of American workers. It is rooted in the late nineteenth century, when labor activists fought for a holiday to recognize the many contributions workers have made to America’s strength, prosperity, and well-being.
There may be no better example of that contribution than our teachers.

Middle school teachers do far more than teach academic content. They challenge students to think, encourage them when they struggle, celebrate their successes, and help them navigate one of the most important and complicated stages of growing up. They build relationships, create safe and welcoming classrooms, and help students discover who they are and who they can become.

The work is not always easy, and much of it happens behind the scenes. Teachers are planning lessons, analyzing data, contacting families, supporting students, collaborating with colleagues, and finding new ways to reach a student who may not yet believe in themselves.

Every day, middle school teachers invest in the future of our community one student at a time.
This Labor Day, I would like to recognize and appreciate the dedication, patience, creativity, and commitment of our teachers. Their work strengthens our school, our students, and ultimately our community.

Thank you to our teachers for the work they do every day. Their contribution matters, and the impact they make will last far beyond the classroom.

Clubs

There are a variety of clubs available for students to get involved in at school! Clubs provide students with opportunities to explore their interests, connect with others, develop new skills, and become more involved in the school community.
Club sponsors will be posting additional information about their clubs, including meeting dates and start times. Some clubs will begin meeting soon, while others will start later in the school year. We will also continue to expand our club offerings based on student interest.
We currently have the following clubs planned for this school year:
  • Debate Club
  • Pickleball Club
  • Drawing/Art Club
  • Color Guard
  • Chess Club
  • Sewing Club
  • Tabletop Gaming Club
We are excited to offer these opportunities and look forward to adding even more ways for students to get involved throughout the year!

Dress Code Reminder

The summer and spring seem to promote the most violations so I wanted to highlight some of the viloations we see this time of year. This information can also be found in the ACUSD #11 Student & Family Handbook.
  • Clothing with holes, rips, tears, and clothing that is otherwise poorly fitting, showing skin and/or undergarments may not be worn at school.
  • Mesh or see through clothing or clothing which has been torn or cut away which expose body parts or under garments which are normally covered is not permitted.
  • All top garments must cover shoulder to shoulder and the student’s entire torso must be covered.
  • Hats, coats, bandannas, sweat bands, headphones/earbuds, Meta AI Smartglass (or other similar brand), and sunglasses may not be worn in the building during the school day. Religious headwear is permitted.
Yondr

Yondr Pouch Pin

When the Yondr pouch is open, the locking mechanism has a small pin that can become damaged if the bag is left open or handled improperly. Once the pin is damaged, the locking mechanism may no longer work, which can require purchasing a replacement bag at a cost of $30.
Please remind your child to close and lock the Yondr pouch whenever it is not in use, especially while it is being transported. The locking components are safe and durable when the pouch is properly closed and locked.
I remind students each time I see their Yondr pouch left open because I want to help them avoid accidentally damaging the pin and having to pay $30 for a replacement bag. Thank you for helping us take care of these bags!
